“It’s Chriiiisssssttttmmmmmmmmaaaaaaas!” The undeniable screech made famous by Noddy Holder.
You know Christmas is well and truly on it’s way when the Christmas songs start taking over every single radio station in existence, and everyone has their favourite but which is considered the ultimate Christmas song?
Personally, for me it has to Mariah Carey with ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Let’s dissect the lyrics a little, and you’ll see what I mean:
“I don’t care about the presents; Underneath the Christmas tree” < Clearly, Mariah’s wish-list includes replacement doors like mine, and as such won’t fit underneath the tree itself.
“I don’t need to hang my stocking; There upon the fireplace” < Again, the presents desired won’t fit into the stocking, so why waste time in putting them up?
“Santa Claus won’t make me happy; With a toy on Christmas day” < I’m a grown adult now, as is Mariah. What Mariah meant to say was; she wants toys. PLURAL!
“I won’t make a list and send it; To the North Pole for Saint Nick” < Just like me, Mariah will send as many as it takes. Perseverance is key at this time of year (ask any retail worker!)
“All I want for Christmas is you” < Yes, I’ll admit it. We share this sentiment about a person too. *Sigh*
However, I’m sure everyone at work is sick of me belting this out at the top of my voice from 6am each morning, so please, Father Christmas, help me (and Mariah) out here! Consider this an addition to the letter you received on Monday!

I sang the Noddy Holder song to some elderly people at a community lunch. I swear some of them were taking their hearing aids out.
