Puppet.

Everyone wants a guiding hand,
A shining light when things get rough.
But yours was a vice-like grip,
And now I’ve had enough.
As hard as it is to say goodbye,
I know that now’s the right time.

You saw all of my smiles,
But you were never there to see me cry.
Now it’s time I put up a fight,
Stopped pretending everything’s ok.

You milked me for my money.
Milked me for my love.
Treat me like a puppet;
Got me all tied up.
Now I’m dreaming like Pinocchio,
It’s time to free myself.

You left me with a broken heart,
Shattered into a million parts.
I’ll never forget the moments we shared,
But I was a fool to think you cared.
It’s time to free myself of your noose,
For this time, I won’t lose.

It’s time for me to leave you behind.

I’ve untied my strings,
Now I’m dreaming like Pinocchio,
This time it’s me who wins.
