General me.

Like Father like Son.

I don’t see the resemblance, does anyone else?

When you have two boxes of old photograph albums piled in front of you and the extended family, an afternoon filled with laughter, entertainment and comparisons always ensues.

I’m pretty sure you’re aware today is Father’s Day and what could be more entertaining than coming across one of your dad’s old school photographs from 50 years ago  hidden away in one of the cardboard boxes?

At this point I would like to excuse the attachment of a nine-year-old self in the featured image; I know it’s not a particularly pretty sight.

All my life, I’ve been told how much like my dad I am. Especially at a younger age.

The resemblance is uncanny. (Well, he is my father after all.) However I’ve always been under the impression that I looked much more like my mom than I did my dad, but after finding this particular photograph I had to go and dig out my official Year Six photograph (after everyone else had left, to save embarrassment, naturally) to see just how much like my dad I really looked, and maybe still do.

Putting these two photos together … even I can see it now. I’m almost a clone!
I chose these photos as, as far as I can tell, they were taken when each of us were between 9 and 11 years of age.

It’s nice to know that on Father’s Day 2012 we have put to bed the myth that I was actually the milkman’s.
Sorry Dad.
